Sky pays a rate to holders of its stablecoins who deposit them in a savings product, or stake them in stUSDS. The yield on sUSDS and the DSR is new USDS or DAI that Sky creates out of its surplus, which makes the savings rate Sky's largest cost.
sUSDS pays the Sky Savings Rate, set by Sky governance. It is a yield-bearing token whose value in USDS rises as the rate accrues.
stUSDS is risk-bearing staking. It lends USDS to SKY stakers who borrow through Lockstake. Holders earn the borrowers' interest after Sky's share, so the rate moves with borrowing, and withdrawals depend on liquidity that is not lent out.
DSR is the original Dai Savings Rate, still open to DAI and sDAI holders at a lower rate.
