Phygitals

About

Phygitals is a Solana-based marketplace where physical trading cards are represented as NFTs. Users buy digital packs backed by graded cards held in insured US vaults operated by PSA, Fanatics, and Alt, then hold, trade, sell back, or redeem the physical card. Phygitals, Inc. also licenses its pack, vaulting, and fulfillment infrastructure to brands and card shops.

History

Phygitals originated at a Solana hackathon in January 2023, where a founder known as Mister Colada pitched a tokenized trading card marketplace. The team built its early user base by distributing Pokémon cards to Solana NFT communities and has grown without outside venture funding, reinvesting platform revenue instead. Cards are minted as compressed NFTs on Solana, and pack pulls use a provably fair randomness system. Coverage has since expanded from Pokémon to One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and sports cards. Phygitals also powers white-label pack drops for creators and card shops such as Zardo Cards.
