Kamino is a DeFi protocol on Solana combining automated liquidity provision, lending, and leverage. It offers vaults for managing concentrated liquidity positions and a lending platform supporting borrow/lend markets, margin strategies, and protected collateral options.
A commercially reasonable search could not locate announcements made by the project team related to historical Kamino launches; however, Kamino’s GitBook states that the Liquidity feature was launched in August 2022, while the Lend / Borrow feature was launched in November 2023.
On Jan. 19, 2024, Kamino launched Kamino Points Season 1. On March 7, 2024, Kamino announced the KMNO token. Kamino Points Season 1 ended on March 31, 2024, and the KMNO token went live on April 30, 2024. Kamino Points Season 2 is ongoing and slated to end 90 days after the KMNO token launch.
Kamino’s mainnet is live and functional, with a live risk dashboard and usage metrics viewable here. Users can earn Kamino Points while using Kamino features such as (i) Borrow/Lend, (ii) Liquidity, (iii) Multiply, (iv) Long/Short, and (v) KMNO Staking. In the future, Kamino plans to introduce governance, which “could include voting on user reward campaigns, protocol grants, revenue allocations, or certain aspects of protocol risk management.”
