Flare Network is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain featuring two native data acquisition protocols. It offers Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO) for decentralized price and data feeds and State Connector for secure and trustless use of external data in smart contracts. Flare emphasizes scalability and low-carbon consensus mechanisms.
In March 2023, the FlareDrop was announced by the Flare Network team, allowing active community members to claim a share of 24.2B FLR tokens.
In July 2023, Ankr Network released an integration with Flare Network focusing on RPC endpoints.
In January 2024, Google Cloud has joined as an infrastructure provider for the Flare blockchain. This was followed by a $35M funding round in February 2024.
In December 2024, initiated the v1.9 hard fork which was followed by v1.10 in April 2025, which updated the Flare codebase to Avalanche v1.10.0.
In May 2025, Flare Network participated in Sentora's Series A round as one of eight early backers. Again in May 2025, Flare Labs has announced the launch of FAssets v1.1 on Songbird.
In July 2025, Flare Labs announced the FAssets Incentive Program allocating aprox. 2.2B FLR tokens between Jul. 2025 and Jul. 2026 to entities “actively contributing” to the use of FAssets and associated activity on the network.
In September 2025, Flare Network team has announced that FAssets are live on the Flare mainnet.
