ONEchain, formerly CROSS, is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built for games. It lets studios issue their own fungible and non-fungible game tokens and lets players hold and trade in-game assets outside individual titles. It is developed by NEXUS, a KOSDAQ-listed Korean game company, and the ONE token is issued under the Opengame Foundation.
ONEchain began as CROSS, a blockchain gaming protocol built by NEXUS (formerly Action Square), a Korean game developer listed on KOSDAQ since 2014. Following Henry Chang's investment in December 2024, NEXUS shifted to a blockchain game platform business and built CROSS as an EVM-compatible Layer 1 using Proof-of-Staked-Authority consensus. Its Game Token Protocol lets each game issue its own tokens and NFTs, alongside a native wallet, an integrated DEX, and bridges. The Opengame Foundation, a non-profit based in Zug, Switzerland, is the issuer and governing body of the token.
After NEXUS acquired a majority stake in ONE Store, a Korean app marketplace, in June 2026, the chain, token, and distribution layer were consolidated under the ONE brand. The CROSS mainnet became ONEchain, the CROSS token became ONE, and the ecosystem stablecoin became ONEUSD. The network, token contract, and team did not change.
