Bitget is a centralized exchange offering spot and derivatives trading, copy trading, where users can replicate successful traders' strategies, and provides a suite of decentralized products through its Bitget Wallet.
BGB (Bitget Token) is the native utility token of the Bitget ecosystem. It acts as the platform's exclusive token after merging with the Bitget Wallet Token (BWB) in late 2024. BGB offers users benefits such as trading fee discounts, access to launchpads and launchpools for early-stage projects, staking rewards, and participation in profit-sharing and exclusive events. Bitget also has a buyback and burn program to reduce BGB supply, enhancing its value. BGB is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, supporting both centralized and decentralized Bitget services.
Between 2021 and 2023, BGB saw modest usage as a utility token for trading discounts and Launchpad allocations. By 2023, the token has increased its utility within the Bitget ecosystem through liquidity events, copy trading products and various DeFi incentives.
In late 2024, Bitget announced and executed its first-ever mega-burn, removing 800M BGB (40% of total supply), worth over $5 billion at the time. The reduction of the supply was later continued in Q1 and Q2 2025, and Bitget burned an additional ~60M BGB (over 5% of supply).
In June 2025, Bitget launched educational initiatives with UNICEF to promote blockchain literacy globally, supporting over 1.1M participants.
In September 2025, Bitget formed a strategic partnership with Morph to build a high-speed stablecoin network.
In Q3 of 2025, Bitget pushed for universal asset access, unifying CeFi, DeFi, and payments seamlessly within its UEX platform.
