About

Arcium is a privacy network that lets applications run sensitive workloads over encrypted data while keeping control logic verifiable on Solana. Work is packaged inside MXEs with configurable protocol choice, participants, and I/O. Arx nodes execute under arxOS in clusters, with Solana enforcing ordering, payments, staking, and slashing through on-chain programs and a queued task pool.

History

Arcium was co-founded in 2022 in Baar, Switzerland, by Yannik Schrade and Julian Deschler. The project originally began under the name Elusiv, aiming to solve fundamental privacy and confidentiality limitations in the Solana ecosystem and broader Web3. Early on, Arcium established itself as a zk privacy protocol before evolving into a comprehensive confidential computing network.

In November 2022, the team announced a seed and strategic funding rounds for $3.5M and $5.5M respectively, led by Greenfield Capital with participation from Coinbase, Heartcore Capital, Longhash VC, and Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko bringing the total total funding to $9M by mid-2024. By 2025, the total funding rose to $15M, with valuation of $200M.

Arcium’s “Encrypted Ecosystem” highlights integrations with major Solana projects, cross-chain protocols, and AI infrastructure projects.

March 2025 saw more than 25 projects leveraging Arcium’s technology. Industry adoption efforts, including supporting “Confidential DePIN,” decentralized gaming, and encrypted NFT tooling, have been core to ecosystem growth. At that time, Arcium also acquired web2 confidential computing company Inpher, further bolstering its core technology.

By October 2025, Arcium Public Testnet Phase 2 went live, described as the first “fully featured” iteration of the network. Additionally, the mainnet was confirmed for Q4 2025. The launch is planned to go live on Solana mainnet with select node operators, targeting production use, early ecosystem revenue, and rapid scaling of confidential apps. Nodes will be managed by Arcium alongside select industry-trusted validators.
