Aeon is an open-source, MIT-licensed autonomous agent framework that runs each agent inside the operator's own GitHub repository via GitHub Actions, with Claude Code, Codex, or other coding agents as the model layer. Agents are configured through Markdown skill files and run on a schedule without approval loops, scoring their own output and repairing skills that fail. Its AEON token is a fixed-supply ERC-20 on Base that was fair launched with no insider allocation.
Aeon was created by Aaron Elijah Mars, founder of Hyperstitions, and its source code has been public since March 2026. The framework is designed to avoid hosted infrastructure: an operator forks the repository, connects a model, and the agent runs on that operator's own GitHub Actions allowance, with its state committed to the repository. Agent behaviors are defined as Markdown skills covering research, market and onchain monitoring, pull request review, deployment, and security scanning, and the framework can write, install, and repair its own skills. Two operator files, SOUL.md and STRATEGY.md, set the agent's voice and goals.
The AEON token launched in March 2026 as a permissionless fair launch on Base through Bankr's Doppler integration, with a fixed supply of 100 billion tokens and no team, investor, or airdrop allocation. Trading fees fund operations and accrue to a project treasury, and holding the token is not required to run the framework. Aeon Inc., a British Virgin Islands company incorporated in June 2026 under the Bedrock framework, holds the codebase IP.
