About

0G is building a decentralized AI L1 ecosystem (deAIOS) designed to address the limitations of current AI infrastructure. Its platform focuses on enabling transparent, owned, monetized, and aligned (TOMA) AI development. The project aims to provide scalable on-chain computation and data solutions, fostering the creation of high-performance, globally accessible AI applications while democratizing access to AI technology.

History

0G Labs (formerly Zero Gravity Labs) was founded in 2023 in San Francisco by Michael Heinrich who brought deep experience in enterprise infra, venture, and Web3/AI startups. The founding team included executives from Garten, Ant Group, and early Conflux Network.

In March 2024, 0G Labs closed a $35M pre-seed round, at the time one of the largest in Web3 infra/AI. Backers included Hack VC, Delphi Ventures, OKX Ventures, Samsung Next, Animoca Brands, Bankless Ventures, Polygon, and others.

In June 2024, the team released its testnet Newton V2, after the success of V1, which generated more than 600K registered wallets. The upgrade introduced a host of new features, stability fixes, and security enhancements that advance the first iteration of the 0G testnet. Additionally, the team also partnered with Brevis to enable trust-free cross-chain data availability (DA). The team also announced a strategic partnership with BlockBooster in the same month, which was focused on incubating and investing in high-quality projects in the Web3 domain, including infrastructure, social, and gaming sectors.

Between July and August 2024, the team co-hosted the FOCG Summer Campaign, together with Blade Games and Blockbooster, featuring social quests and game testing, to showcase high-performance onchain games powered by modular AI blockchain and ZK technologies.

In December 2024, the 0G Foundation secured a $250M token purchase and liquid capital commitment from a consortium led by top crypto funds and AI-native investors. At the same time, a seed equity round added $40M, with Hack VC as a lead.

In January 2025, the team introduced ERC-7857, a groundbreaking NFT standard tailored specifically for AI agents that brings Intelligent NFTs (iNFTs) to life.

In February 2025, 0G launched a $88.88M Ecosystem Growth Program, designed to accelerate the development of decentralized AI agents and high-performance dApps within the 0G network. At the same time, the team also released the 0G Hub - aggregating dApps, analytics, developer tools, ecosystem updates, key content, and more.

By April 2025, the Testnet V3 (Galileo) was released, boosting performance by 70% allowing the network to process up to 2500 TPS using an optimized CometBFT consensus.

By September 2025, Aristotle Mainnet launched, uniting over 100 partners (wallets, oracles, DAO tooling), with full stack infra for decentralized AI, composable onchain agent applications, and EVM, SVM, app-chain compatibility. Furthermore, the project also completed its TGE.

In October 2025, the team announced a native top-level domain (TLD) built directly on the 0G Chain and developed in collaboration with SPACE ID.

In November 2025, 0G and Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) have launched a S$5 million joint research program to pioneer decentralized AI technologies that make machine intelligence more open, accountable, and scalable.
