Weekly Recap: BlackRock BTC ETF, Ordinals 2.0, Uniswap V4, and more

This week in crypto had a mixture of sentiments coming off the heels of hostile regulatory actions last week. Newfound hope emerged from the announcement of BlackRock seeking approval from the SEC for a Bitcoin ETF. On the other hand, in true bear market fashion, USDT faces downward pressure on its peg leading to an imbalanced Curve 3Pool, reaching levels last seen in November 2022.

While the uncertain outcomes of both BlackRock's ETF proposal and USDT's peg come to pass, new developments around Uniswap, EigenLayer, and the Bitcoin network were rolled out:

  • The Uniswap Labs team announced Uniswap V4, extending V3’s concentrated liquidity architecture.
  • The much anticipated restaking solution, EigenLayer, deployed on Ethereum.
  • Bitcoin Ordinals were upgraded via the introduction of recursive inscriptions, which enable inscriptions to reference one another.
