Visa, Mastercard, eBay, Stripe back out of Facebook's Libra project
Visa, Mastercard, eBay, and Stripe have all opted to leave the Facebook-led Libra Association, with most citing regulatory concerns and political pressure as factors that led to the decision. The four firms now join PayPal, which announced its departure from the Libra project last week, as former Libra members. Today's exodus leaves the Libra Association with 23 out of its original 28 members, including both Facebook and its subsidiary Calibra.
