Rocket Pool implemented its Atlas Upgrade on April 17, improving the decentralization and growth potential of the protocol.
With the same capital requirement, LEB8 minipools generate 45% more ETH staking yield than solo stakers and 26% more than LEB16s.
Over 4,200 LEB8 minipools have been created since the Atlas upgrade went live, and LEB8s now account for over 30% of Rocket Pool minipools.
The Atlas Upgrade optimized the minipool queue by using node operator ETH deposits to create additional yield for rETH holders while a queue exists. A renewed flow of rETH depositors will be a sign the optimized queue can effectively rebalance supply and demand.
RPL is up over 120% YTD, outperforming both ETH and its peers.
Rocket Pool launched in September 2021 with a focus on becoming the most decentralized liquid staking provider. The protocol takes a unique approach to liquid staking by pairing ETH from independent node operators with ETH from LST depositors to create Ethereum validators. The Blockworks Research ETH Liquid Staking Primer offers a high-level walkthrough of the protocol’s framework.
