😧 NEM Foundation, nearly broke, plans layoffs and pivot

The NEM Foundation, a non-profit team that promotes the NEM ($XEM) blockchain, has one month's cash to operate on. The foundation cites previous mismanagement, specifically on advertising future projects like Catapult, the platform’s native engine software slated for later this year as part of the problem. The NEM Foundation is asking the NEM community fund for 160 million XEM tokens worth $7.5 million. The number of layoffs depends on funds granted by the community.
