📱 Kik announces launch of Kin token for messaging app

Kik announced today that a limited number of app users will be able to earn Kin tokens through the Kin Marketplace Beta. Tokens will be rewarded for completing tasks like taking quizzes or completing polls and can be spent on in-app purchases. The Kin Marketplace represents an important milestone for Kik which has struggled to find a blockchain solution for their token. Original plans saw the project using a combination of the Ethereum ($ETH) and Stellar ($XLM) blockchains, but ultimately the team settled on an independent fork of the Stellar mainnet.
