Nathaniel Popper, a New York Times journalist, reported that major stocks and financial assets exchange eTrade is looking to integrate bitcoin and ethereum into its platform used by more than five million users. eTrade is currently exploring potential partners to securely manage cryptocurrencies on behalf of the company. Often, exchanges work with regulated custodial service providers to securely manage user funds stored in crypto assets to reduce risk of the loss of cryptocurrencies. "In the wake of TD Ameritrade quietly opening Bitcoin trading for some of its customers, I was just told that eTrade is preparing to begin offering both Bitcoin and Ether trading to its 5 million or so customers and is just finalizing a third party to actually hold the coins," Popper said.
