DePIN Summit 2024

On August 10th, the top DePIN builders and investors from around the world gathered in NYC for the 2nd annual DePIN Summit.

The Summit took place amid immense growth in the DePIN sector over the last year, with the total DePIN market cap up 400% to $20 billion YoY and fundraising volume up 296% so far in 2024 compared to last year.

Overlooking the Hudson River on a crystal clear summer day, attendees shared their visions for DePIN and excitement for one of the fastest-growing spaces in crypto. Conversations ranged from GPU compute networks powering the growth in AI to decentralized 3D printing to updating the energy grid with virtual power plants.

Messari was lucky enough to have both current analysts and alumni in attendance, giving presentations, and moderating panel discussions.

So what did our analysts takeaway from the Summit?
