Decentraland launches art festival and an OpenSea art mall

Dencetraland is launching a 10-day art festival. As part of the festival, Decentraland will debut a virtual art mall with OpenSea that will contain galleries displaying art from AsyncArt, Josie, dhtenshi, and Hackatao. These artists will also be releasing exclusive new pieces available to purchase on OpenSea.

Why it matters:

• Changes in consumer behavior can drive the adoption of new goods and services. If art viewership grows in the virtual world then this could increase the demand for digital goods, especially digital art.
• One of the challenges of digital art compared to traditional art is viewership and display. NFTs and digital art are searching for their ideal display mechanism. The social aspect of art viewership is also adapting and virtual worlds present a unique method for broad viewership.
