🎗 Coinbase CEO wants to give $1 billion worth of crypto to people in need
Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, announced today the launch of GiveCrypto. Armstrong personally funded the platform with a $1 million donation and aims to reach $1 billion in donations over the next two years. GiveCrypto will accept any type of cryptoasset and distribute funds directly to those that need them, allowing them to decide between holding cryptoassets or converting them to a local currency. Other contributors include Chris Larson and Brad Garlinghouse of Ripple ($XRP), venture capitalists Ron Conway and Fred Wilson, and Zooko Wilcox of Zcash ($ZEC).
