The project takes its name from Robinhood's "The World Is Flat" mainnet keynote and is not affiliated with Robinhood. Its defining feature is World is Fair, a voting layer where 1 WIF from 1 wallet is 1 vote, every vote burns the token, and voters are entered into a reward draw.
