About

Suzaku provides restaking infrastructure for Avalanche-based Layer 1 blockchains. Participants include stakers, curators, and operators, with collateral deployed across validators to enhance network security. It supports multiple asset types for staking and uses a relay network (SuzakuRN) to handle interchain messaging within Avalanche.

History

Suzaku Network was established in early 2024 by the Ash team to solve core bootstrapping and decentralization challenges for new Layer-1 blockchains launched on Avalanche. By October 2024, Suzaku launched its (re)staking decentralized application, allowing early L1 clients to bootstrap with tailored security models and reducing the risk and expense associated with cold start launches. Strong backing from the Avalanche Foundation and leading ecosystem investors such as BENQI, Yield Yak, and Chorus One validated Suzaku’s model and facilitated deeper integration across the Avalanche ecosystem.

In the first half of 2025, Suzaku initiated its multi-phase testnet, beginning with the Avalanche 9000 Testnet in Q1 and expanding to audited smart contracts and a more extensive validator network in Q2.

In May 2025, the team introduced Balancer Validator Manager, a smart contract that extends the ACP-99 ValidatorManager standard to support multiple security modules, allowing the Suzaku Protocol to leverage the BalancerValidatorManager enabling progressive decentralization for Avalanche L1s.

In August 2025, Suzaku completed a $1.5M total raise through seed funding with participants such as Blizzard Fund, Avalanche Foundation, Yield Yak, 50 Partners, Nicolas Rémond and others. The funding empowered Suzaku to accelerate its mainnet launch and deepen its pipeline of integrations for emerging Avalanche-based L1s. Furthermore, August was also when the TGE took place, which allowed participants of Season 1 to claim their SUZ airdrop. Season 1 has seen nearly 10B Suzaku points and over 10,000 eligible users.

In October 2025, Suzaku announced the upcoming mainnet deployment of its core protocol, integrating it with Avalanche's first two L1s - Dexalot and PLYR - and launching their respective liquid staking tokens (LSTs).
