Stasis is a blockchain platform designed to help governments tokenize fiat currencies.

History

In 2017, Stasis saw government's increasing interest in distributed ledgers and blockchains as a signal to create a platform for these entities to on-board their existing assets as tokenized digital assets. To this end, Stasis is launching stablecoins that tokenize fiat monies and are fully backed by secure and auditable reserves of those currencies. The first token, EURS, was launched in August 2018 as a tokenized form of the Euro. Stasis is designed to facilitate a two-way currency flow between fiat currencies and digital assets while aiming to introduce stable assets into the traditionally volatile space of cryptocurrencies. Stasis was originally developed by Exante Ltd.
