Permission aims to redefine web advertising.
Through using Web3 advertising, Permission intends to offer the solution to some of the most significant problems of Web 2.0 - surveillance capitalism, data exploitation, and interruptive marketing - by enabling users to securely grant permission and monetize their data across the web, while providing an enterprise solution for advertisers seeking a better return on their ad spend.
The ERC-20 token “ASK” underpins its ecosystem.
Permission is a platform that has created an infrastructure and currency needed to enable a new advertising model based entirely on users consent and value exchange. It empowers individuals to own, control and profit from their data by sharing such data on its permission-based advertising and data monetization platform.
The platform runs on the Polygon and Ethereum networks, and is powered by its ERC-20 token, ASK. To empower hundreds of millions of users around the globe to monetize their data, Permission has built numerous applications (see “Technology”), which includes a mechanism for advertisers to efficiently issue rewards to consumers for sharing their data across the open web. A key part of the Permission ecosystem is its patented technology, which includes the invention of a new field of computational mathematics - the Algebra of Data. This technology allows data stored in silos and applications to be "liquified" so that individuals can combine, permission, and monetize their social, search, shopping data, etc., as a single logical data store. Permission has been awarded 9 patents by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for this novel algebra, which has wide areas of application in data access, data transformation, and data storage. The project is seeking to incorporate its technology into the Web3 engagement model which will be built on decentralization and permission and will allow advertisers to comply with global privacy regulations and increase ROI while empowering individuals to monetize their most valuable asset-data.
Since the launch of its platform in August 2020, Permission has recorded significant early growth progress, with ASK now being held by over 700,000 unique wallet addresses.
