Paras is a digital collectibles marketplace on the NEAR protocol. It allows creators and collectors to create, trade, and collect NFTs. The platform offers features such as staking, loyalty programs, and sweep floor auctions. Paras aims to be an all-in-one marketplace for NFTs, providing a space for creators and collectors to connect and engage. The platform's native token, PARAS, is used for utility and rewards within the ecosystem.

History

Paras is an Indonesia-based company that was co-founded by Rahmat “Riqi” Albariqi and Afiq Shofy Ramadhan to provide artists with more control over their creations. Their platform launched on mainnet in December 2020 after raising more than $5 million through the Initial Dex Offering (IDO) and private sale of their PARAS token with 15% of supply going to investors and 5% to IDO participants. An additional 1.5% were airdropped to early adopters shortly after launch. 2 months after launch their marketplace has onboarded more than 70 artists with a trading volume of more than $35,000.

In the Paras 2.0 update, which was announced on September 7th 2021 several major changes were introduced. Primarily, Paras now allowed trading and creation of NFTs of any ratio (not just 64x89), made the process of creating and releasing cards and collections easier for artists and opened a marketplace for everyone and not just whitelisted creators.

On November 12th 2021 Paras debuted their NFT-based comics platform to become an industry hub. Paras Comics is designed to be another step in connecting fans with creators and creating a gateway to access crypto-native entertainment. As of April 2022 Paras marketplace has a $3 million 30-day trading volume with more than thousand daily transactions.
