Nexo is a cryptocurrency platform offering a variety of financial services. It enables users to take out crypto-backed loans and earn interest on crypto or fiat deposits. Nexo also includes a cryptocurrency exchange for buying, selling, and swapping a range of digital assets. In addition, it has its own utility token (NEXO), and offers a card for real-world crypto spending.
Nexo offers crypto-backed loans to users like investors, miners, hedge funds, exchanges, and token projects. Users can transfer assets to Nexo and immediately withdraw funds via the Nexo card or a bank account. Once the loan is paid back cryptoassets are sent back to the borrower. Nexo is available in more than 200 jurisdictions and accepts 45 cryptoassets as collateral. Nexo is part of Credissimo, a publicly traded fintech company founded in 2007.
In January 2024, Nexo obtained the ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 certifications. Later that year, in July, Nexo also announced its successful completion of the SOC 3 Type 2 audit, renewing its SOC 2 Type 2 audit. In early 2025, Nexo revamped its loyalty program and passive income offerings, introducing new balance recommendations, client care tiers, and enhanced savings control.
In April 2025, Nexo announced its official return to the U.S. market after resolving regulatory disputes and paying a $45M settlement to the SEC in 2023. The relaunch featured support at a major Bulgaria conference headlined by Donald Trump Jr., and offered its full suite of digital asset products to American retail and institutional clients.
In August 2025, Nexo unveiled new AI-powered trading tools and predictive analytics to enhance portfolio management and support advanced users.
