History

Lava Blockchain is a Proof-of-Stake appchain built using the Cosmos SDK and Tendermint Core. Examples include Binance Smart Chain, Osmosis and Cosmos Hub.

Lava operates as settlement layer for accessing blockchain data. Data and requests are peer-to-peer and off-chain to improve network scalability but are cryptographically signed and verifiable. This cryptography ensures that network actors can be held accountable for inaccurate responses and requests; trust requirements are reduced.
