History

Despite the tremendous rise of Play-to-Earn and other metaverse gaming narratives in 2021, online gaming enthusiasts are still reluctant to participate in such games. Some popular reasons for this reluctance are poor graphics interfaces and subpar story modes. Another subtle, yet highly important, obstacle is the limitation of current P2E games operating on single blockchains. An avid P2E gamer may not be able to experience the full breadth of the offerings of the metaverse if they cannot transfer their gaming assets between chains. DeHorizon has set out to break down this barrier of interoperability, allowing players maximize their gaming experience across multiple chains.

Launched in 2021, DeHorizon has embarked on building games playable across multiple chains. Although the project's native chain is Ethereum, works are also under way for Binance Smart Chain compatibility. The project announced three games - DeVerse, DeTournament, DeQuidditch - in the pipeline, which would be rolled out in phases between Q1 and Q3 2022. For these games, Numen and JuJus are in-game characters that players would regularly utilize and interact with.

DeVerse: Set to launch in Q1 2022, DeVerse is a team battle game where each player needs a Numen and a point card to battle and earn. A DeVerse character, represented by the Numen, would have one normal attack and three skills.

DeTournament: This would be built as a Battle Royale game. In DeTournament, each player can play with friends or alone while off-court players can observe the game in God-mode.

DeQuidditch: DeQuidditch is a fantasy sports game with a limited number of players per game. Players who do not get the chance to play can place bet on participating players to win rewards.

Numen: These are important in-game hero NFTs classified into five segments based on their strengths - Ranger, Rover, Adventurer, Alchemist and Warrior.

JuJu: Players can breed these characters which have infinite potential. Upon reaching their maximum level, JuJus' influence goes beyond specific games into the entire DeHorizon metaverse.

Meanwhile, to facilitate DeVerse, DeTournament and DeQuidditch grow and develop independently, each game is required with its own in-game currency. These native tokens will be used by players to purchase in-game assets like digital land, game characters, equipment and many more. Deverse token (DVT), DeTournament token (DTT), and DeQuidditch token (DQT) will all be released by Fair Launch with an initial supply of 1 billion tokens each.

The DeHorizon team understands NFTs have an important role to play in the metaverse. As such, DeHorizon launched DeMeta, an ERC-721 NFT that is editable, evolvable and interoperable.
