DeFi Kingdoms is a play-to-earn game on the Harmony network. The game combines DeFi elements with usable NFTs in an immersive digital world. The JEWEL token fuels DeFi Kingdoms, which can be used to earn rewards and purchase NFTs such as items and heroes.

History

DeFi Kingdoms (DFK) launched on August 22nd, 2021 with the aim of gamifying yield farming and token swaps. It was launched as a series of smart contracts on the Harmony network using the Uniswap V2 protocol. Its utility token, JEWEL, can be used to interact with the game’s features. There have been recent announcements of an expansion on the Avalanche network, with the release of a new utility token, CRYSTAL.

The project team has avoided Venture funding, and has instead created community incentives to grow organically. The team has a partnership with the Harmony Foundation, which grants them access to capital and other resources. DFK emphasizes humanitarian and community workshops as a way to bring under-resourced groups into the game’s development ecosystem.

The Project has detailed a roadmap, which includes the launch of playable Hero NFTs, quests, buyable land, buildings and equipment. The team has also indicated that a battle system will be introduced to the game, which combines player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) elements.
