DAOstack is building a platform for decentralized governance
DAOstack powers decentralized companies, funds and markets to make fast and innovative decisions at scale. It’s a platform for decentralized governance that enables collectives to self-organize around shared goals or values, easily and efficiently. DAOstack is sometimes called an operating system for collective intelligence, or a Wordpress for DAOs. The platform includes a smart contract framework, a caching layer, and a user interface that allows anyone to create or participate in a decentralized organization without technical knowledge
Anyone can create proposals for a DAO, which is then voted on by those with Reputation, a non-tradeable value assigned to addresses performing valuable services for the network. This can include creating proposals that get passed or voting on correct proposals. In order for one to pass, it needs to reach an absolute majority, that is 51% of all Reputation. However, proposals can be boosted such that only a relative majority is needed which only needs 51% of the people who are voting.
Proposals can be boosted in a prediction market where GEN holders vote by staking tokens on whether or not it should be boosted. Those who vote correctly receive the staked GEN from those who voted incorrectly. This process, called Holographic consensus, allows the system to be robust while still being scalable since decisions can be made by smaller subsets with a vested interest in the proposal.
