Cryptex Finance offers investors exposure to the total cryptocurrency market cap through its derivative asset, TCAP. Akin to the S&P500 for tech stocks, TCAP captures the value of all the sectors of the cryptocurrency market in one asset. The protocol also serves as a gateway for TradFi into DeFi.
Joe Sticco, Preston Van Loon, and Thomas Matzner founded Cryptex Finance. Cryptex Finance is a blockchain protocol aiming to provide secure exposure to the cryptocurrency market using tried and tested strategies of traditional finance in decentralized finance. Joe Sticco is a long-standing trader and investment manager, who came into the blockchain industry in 2016 through Bitcoin. After witnessing the 2017 ICO boom and rug pulls that ensued, which led to investor's losses, Joe and colleagues began researching how to provide a more secure and stable exposure to the cryptocurrency market for investors.
After 15 months of research and development, the mainnet was launched on Ethereum on April 6th, 2021. Cryptex protocol is a collection of smart contracts that provides users exposure to the growth of the whole cryptocurrency sector through its ERC20 token TCAP (Total Crypto Market Cap). TCAP is a derivative of the total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies minted and burnt according to market demand and supply. Its price data is derived from an aggregate mechanism powered by chainlink and backed by collateralizing BTC, ETH, or stablecoins with the price equivalent of the minted TCAP.
In line with the mission to provide the framework for DeFi products that offer diversified exposure to the market, Cryptex Finance plans to roll out other derivative products in the future. This includes derivatives tokens like bitcoin dominance, altcoin dominance, gas tokens, and NFT index.
