Centaur Finance specializes in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) solutions, aiming to bridge the gap between DeFi and traditional finance. Their product suite includes a multi-asset wallet called Hadar, a revolutionary automated market maker called CentaurSwap, and a Cosmos-based blockchain called CentaurChain. These solutions cater to both individual and enterprise users, providing seamless interfaces, reduced slippage, and new opportunities in the CeFi and DeFi sectors. Centaur Finance is focused on combining decentralized finance with measured regulatory control.
Centaur was started as a project called "ProDefi" in 2019 based out of Singapore which was later rebranded as Centaur. The company aims at closing the gap between decentralized finance and traditional finance, provide a solution to over collateralized loans, incorporate additional features of privacy and smart contract in liquidity pools, interoperability, and most importantly the UI/YX feature to web-based interfaces which are missing in most of the DeFi projects.
History of project development
In the first phase of project development, Centaur focused on cross-chain interoperable liquidly pool, Centaur Chain testnet built on Tendermint core consensus, and a multi-asset, multi-address, decentralized cryptocurrency wallet to support the adoption of cryptocurrencies in general. The first phase of development was completed by the third quarter of 2019.
The second phase of project development focused on cross-chain interoperability among multiple blockchains protocols. Centaur proposed a cross-chain interoperability settlement layer that will be backward-compatible with existing blockchain protocols. The basic component that enables these cross-chain functionalities is the usage of the Oracle network which is also the focus area for the second phase. The initial development of the second phase was completed by the second quarter of 2020.
The third____ phase was dedicated to the development of Dapps that will utilize the power of the Centaur Chain ecosystem. These Dapps would include a cross-board remittance feature, a lending platform for unsecured loans, asset management and privacy-based investment that will use Zero Knowledge Proof. The third phase of development was completed by the fourth quarter of 2020.
Centaur launched its Hadar wallet on 31st March 2021. Hadar is a multi-asset, multi-address, multi-purpose wallet. It is an all-in-one app for crypto-asset storage, management and decentralized finance. Hadar will also have Hadarswap for swapping assets within the wallet and DeFI section for lending/borrowing, staking, dexes.
Centaur launched its leading platform in UK and EU in the third quarter of 2020 and in Southeast Asia in the first quarter of 2021.
