About

Camelot is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol anchored on its automated market maker (AMM) decentralized exchange (DEX) on Arbitrum, was founded by 0xmyrddin, 0xpercy and SirBootsOfIron.

History

Camelot is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol anchored on its automated market maker (AMM) decentralized exchange (DEX) on Arbitrum, was founded by Myrddin, Percival, and IronBoots, all of whom remain pseudonymous. Camelot has undergone three separate deployments (V1, V2, and V3).

  • The protocol initially launched as Excalibur Exchange on Fantom in March 2022. This version used an EXC token, which was deprecated upon the protocol’s migration to "Camelot Exchange" on Arbitrum in September 2022. The AMM component of the Excalibur Protocol was a fork of Uniswap V2. EXC tokenholders on Fantom were eligible for a 10% discount during the fair launch public sale of GRAIL in November 2022.
  • The protocol's second version, launched in November 2022, still utilized Uniswap V2’s constant product formula but integrated a stable-pair formula for stablecoin pairs as well as dynamic directional fees.
  • The third version, launched in April 2023, is a fork of Algebra V1.9, which is a modified fork of Uniswap V3. Upgrades in Camelot V3 included concentrated liquidity, custom tick spacing, and directional and dynamic fees.
