About

Callisto Network is a decentralized, open-source, crypto platform based on the Ethereum protocol with its own cryptocurrency. The main goal of Callisto Network is to improve the security of the cryptography industry’s ecosystem by enhancing smart-contract development methods and environment.

History

Callisto Network aims to define and standardize protocol for a reference implementation of built-in cold staking, governance system and a development funding mechanism based upon smart-contracts. Callisto has established a free-for-all system of smart-contracts auditing. They founded the Callisto Security Department and deploy treasury funds to pay security auditors for auditing smart-contracts to reduce risk/flaw in smart-contracts and improve the adoption of programmable blockchains for the whole crypto industry.

Callisto utilizes Cold Staking coin that does not require the users to run a node. Cold Staking is not related to PoS nor a consensus mechanism, it is written in Solidity, a smart-contract programming language. Cold Stakers have no rights in generating blocks or confirming transactions, they receive passive income by locking their CLO coins for a 27 days period. The Cold Staking contract receives 25% of all mining rewards and distributes this amount among cold stakers in direct proportion to their stake.
