Bytom is a blockchain-based open-source value-exchange protocol. It aims to tokenize real world assets, such as warrants, securities, dividends and bonds. Users can use the Bytom blockchain to create assets and have these assets circulate freely . Bytom has developed a series of products in addition to the Bytom blockchain. About Bytom's DeFi protocol (MOV): Bytom's DeFi protocol MOV is comprised of a trading protocol and an Asset Lending protocol. With layer 2 sidechain technology, MOV aims to support a vast array of Financial products.

History

The Bytom team is building a distributed ledger protocol designed to facilitate the exchange between a variety of digital assets (e.g. cryptocurrencies) and byte assets (e.g. iOS applications) to connect a variety of currency-separated platforms and user demographics. Compatibility across chains and technology types is one of the primary goals for Btyom.

Bytom consists of three layers: a "shared ledger" layer is designed to service permissionless and permissioned networks; a "smart contract" layer that supports code for smart legal agreements, DAOs, and other smart contracts; and the "applications layer" for simple, programmable applications.
