Avocado DAO invests in NFT assets within blockchain games and emerging metaverses, lending them to guild members to optimize yield. Profits are shared with Avocado Guild ($AVG) token holders. The DAO also focuses on community growth through education and content creation around blockchain technologies and metaverse opportunities.
Avocado DAO was started as a gaming guild by co-founders and contributors Brendan Wong and Sir Gregory in July 2021, first launching with 500 gamers, or scholars, and guild automation tools meant to enrich the virtual gamer community and provide financial opportunity for gamers across Southeast Asia.
The DAO seeks to recruit players to facilitate the growth of P2E games, and also invests in NFT assets in games and metaverses, and shares profits with AVG token holders. The DAO soon grew to 10,000 gamers by the end of 2021 and had raised $18M in a funding round led by Animoca Brands. The DAO's gamers have mostly been in the Philippines and Indonesia thus far, and it has even funded the NFTs required for its scholars to participate in the games.
