Amnis Finance is a liquid staking protocol operating on the Aptos blockchain. The protocol allows users to stake their APT tokens and receive liquid derivative tokens, specifically amAPT, which can be utilized in various decentralized finance (DeFi) applications without the need to unstake their original tokens. Key features of Amnis Finance include:
The project emerged from the Aptos Foundation Hackathon in 2023, where the Amnis team secured second place. Following this achievement, Amnis Finance conducted a testing period that accumulated over 250,000 on-chain transactions and attracted more than 14,000 stakers, alongside completing multiple security audits and a public bug bounty program.
By the end of 2023, the protocol launched its mainnet with strategic backing from the Aptos Foundation and key ecosystem partners including Forest Staking, Bware Labs, Pancakeswap, Aptscan, Movebit, Aries Market, Parafi Technologies, Petra Wallet, Pontem Network, A41, and Msafe.
In June 2025, the team introduced the Amnis DAO, a decentralized governance structure powered by the AMI token. The DAO is tasked with overseeing the protocol’s development, including the selection of node operators, allocation of service fees, design of incentive programs, and approval of protocol upgrades.
In July 2025, Amnis launched an Ambassador Program with a 150 APT reward pool for the initial sprint, targeting content creators, KOLs, and community managers to expand protocol awareness and educational content.
