Ambios operates a decentralized network that utilizes a global array of environmental sensors to collect real-time data. This network, which is one of the largest of its kind, spans over 20 countries and includes more than 25,000 sensors. These sensors provide frequent updates, every 5 minutes, contributing to a dataset used in various applications such as air quality monitoring and urban planning.
The network uses a distributed model that encourages public participation by allowing individuals to deploy sensors and use smartphones for data collection, rewarding them for their contributions. This model aims to expand the coverage and detail of environmental data available.
With its recent initiative to deploy on Solana, Ambios plans to enhance its network by integrating token-based incentives and governance features, supporting its scalability and community engagement.
Ambios Network launched in January 2024 focusing on environmental sensors and ambient data on the Solana blockchain. The platform represents a pioneering decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) for environmental monitoring, empowering communities, enterprises, and AI systems with real-world environmental data.
In April 2025, Ambios launched the $AMBIOS token on Solana mainnet to power its decentralized environmental data network. Also its token release schedule was published, covering allocations, vesting, and the post-TGE roadmap. At the same time, the team also partnered with OpenLedger to make its real-time environmental dataset available to AI developers on-chain.
In May 2025, Ambios announced its first airdrop with a snapshot through Streamflow.
In July 2025, Ambios Network went live on SAP Datasphere, allowing businesses leveraging SAP’s data solutions to access Ambios Network’s real-time and historical environmental data.
In October 2025, the project was awarded a $200,000 USD grant from Google Cloud Web3 Startup at Scale Program.
