The Mainframe Lending Protocol allows anyone to borrow against their crypto. Mainframe uses a bond-like instrument, representing an on-chain obligation that settles on a specific future date enabling fixed-rate lending and borrowing.

History

Mainframe aims to build the necessary infrastructure for a new internet that places a premium on private, peer-to-peer, censorship-resistant application development and information transfer. Mainframe is led by Mick Hagen, a serial entrepreneur, and a Princeton computer science dropout.

At a high level, the team works to deliver three primary solutions to concerns with the current internet. First, Mainframe prioritizes information security via end-to-end and group encryption on a privacy-focused platform, which is a perceived weakness for projects like Keybase or Signal. Mainframe also focuses on user privacy with the goal of allowing developers and customers a surveillance-free experience without exposing personal and network information. Last, Mainframe aims to build a distributed, peer-to-peer protocol that offers a censorship-resistant haven for users, something today's internet cannot do.
