🐛 Will this vulnerability finally compel Bitmain to open source its firmware?

Bitcoin Core developer James Hilliard and pseudonymous Twitter user 00whiterabbit say they have found a bug in Chinese mining giant Bitmain's software which opens mining rigs to exploitation. The duo are willing to give the information over only under condition Bitmain open-sources all of its code per the GNU General Public License it neglects to follow. The bug allows for a rig to be taken over via IP address, although the author notes the extreme unlikeliness of this event occurring.
