Unpatched Ethereum clients pose a 51% attack risk, according to new research

New research from Security Research Labs indicates that a large number of Parity and Geth Ethereum ($ETH) nodes have been exposed for "extended periods of time" after patches for known security flaws have been released. Only two thirds of nodes have been patched so far, the report explains. The network becomes more vulnerable to a 51% attack if a malicious actor can crash a large number of these unpatched nodes.
