Valentina Matvienko, chairman of the upper house of the Russian Parliament, has asked MPs to expedite work on a cryptocurrency relate bill that has sat in the parliament's lower house, the Duma, for over a year. Matvienko fears a lack of regulatory guidance and uncertainty is causing crypto-related startups to go elsewhere. She has asked several Russian government institutions to investigate the lack of progress.
