Fabian Vogelsteller, the developer that formalized ethereum's ($ETH) ERC-20 token standard — the code underlying most initial coin offerings (ICOs) — proposed a new approach in a bid to make the funding schemes safer for investors at the Devcon4 conference. The “reversible ICO” he proposed would allow token investors to take back their funds at any stage in that project's lifespan. This resolves the problem of ICO scams where teams take investors' money without developing the project.
