Rep. Waters tells Facebook to halt development while Congress and regulators review Libra
Representative Waters (D-CA) of the House Financial Services Committee called on Facebook to halt the development of its recently announced Libra blockchain until Congress and regulators have a chance to review the protocol and its political, social, and monetary implications, according to tweets from Reuters correspondent Pete Schroeder. Waters says: "With the announcement that it plans to create a cryptocurrency, Facebook is continuing its unchecked expansion and extending its reach into the lives of its users."
