Quebec's energy regulator is issuing 300 megawatts of subsidized energy in addition to 368 megawatts already committed for applying crypto mining firms. Miners are chosen on criteria such as investment decisions and heat recovery methods. Crypto miners will pay one of two tariffs that manufacturers or data centers pay. The plan is part of Quebec's effort to re-align energy needs after miners flocked to the province's low energy prices, the lowest in North America.
