Primer

Pundi AI (PUNDIAI) is a decentralized data infrastructure platform that incentivizes sourcing and labeling high-quality datasets for AI. Through its Tag-to-Earn model, users verify and annotate data to earn PUNDIAI token rewards, addressing a key bottleneck in AI development: the need for accurate, human-labeled inputs. While access to clean data is essential, many AI models rely on a centralized provider of data labels to tag, classify, and rank examples. These labels are necessary for guiding model behavior, but producing them can be costly, labor-intensive, and, in some cases, unethical. Pundi AI aims to solve this issue through matching third-party datasets with a decentralized network of data providers who earn rewards for labelling data.

The platform is built on Pundi AIFX, a Layer-1 network rebranded from Function X’s f(x) Core. Most recently, Pundi AI has announced it will begin migrating its ecosystem away from this native chain in 2026, having initiated a proposal to sunset its native Pundi AIFX Omnilayer. Pundi AI comprises three layers: an omnichannel data layer (AIFX), integrated L1/L2s such as Ethereum and Arbitrum, and an application layer that supports cross-chain data movement and EVM compatibility.

The Pundi AI Data Pump is a no-code decentralized application that enables users to tokenize AI datasets into liquid, tradable assets called Dataset Tokens (DTOKs) via automated bonding curves, effectively creating an open financial market for AI training data.

PURSE+ is a browser plugin that lets users earn rewards by tagging and analyzing social media data to support community-driven AI development. It is part of Pundi’s broader AI initiative, which focuses on enhancing AI capabilities through community-driven efforts.

PUNDIAI is the native token for payments, incentives, and protocol governance on the Pundi AI network.

Pundi AI Data Pump

Pundi AI Data Pump is the newest flagship application of the Pundi AI ecosystem. The Data Pump is a no-code tool that enables dataset owners to transform AI data into liquid, tradable assets. The application is engineered to abstract away the technical complexity typically associated with tokenization, DeFi mechanisms, and liquidity provisioning, effectively functioning as an automated, onchain asset launcher.

The Tokenization Process

Pundi AI Data Pump automates the entire backend process of tokenization, allowing a data owner to create a new, tradable asset without writing a single line of code. When a user initiates the process, the application automatically executes several key functions.

First, it generates and deploys a new, dedicated smart contract for the Dataset Token (DTOK), representing fractionalized ownership or access rights to the underlying data. Simultaneously, Data Pump establishes an algorithmic bonding curve for the new DTOK. This mathematical formula defines the relationship between the token's price and its supply, enabling automated and predictable price discovery without a traditional order book. Finally, Data Pump automatically sets up the initial liquidity for the token by pairing it against a base asset such as PUNDIAI or the U.S. dollar stablecoin USD1 and USDC.

This automated process facilitates a three-sided marketplace serving data creators, community contributors, and the open market. Whether the data creators are researchers, hobbyists, or institutions, Data Pump allows these creators to collateralize their datasets as new D10Ks. Once a DTOK is created, the application initiates a "seeding phase," during which the broader community can discover the project and show support by contributing capital to the bonding curve. This participation funds the data project, establishes its initial market value, and often rewards early supporters with favorable entry prices.

After the seeding phase is complete and specific criteria are met, the DTOK is listed on decentralized exchanges such as PancakeSwap. At this point, the DTOK is now a fully liquid asset that can be traded, held as an investment, or used by AI developers to access the underlying data. This mechanism serves Pundi AI's core mission to "turn data into a community-owned resource where every contribution counts and every dataset has real market value."

Integration with Binance Wallet

Pundi AI Data Pump is now live and actively featured within the Binance Wallet DApp store. This integration is a significant strategic milestone for user acquisition, placing Data Pump directly in front of what the team describes as "one of the largest communities in Web3." By integrating directly into the Binance Wallet's DApp browser, millions of users can now discover, connect to, and interact with Data Pump in just a few taps, all from within their existing, trusted wallet application.

Enabling Stability: The USD1 Base Pair Update

Another major protocol update was recently rolled out for Data Pump on Sept. 4th, providing DTOK creators with the option to select either the native PUNDIAI token or USD1 on BNB Chain as the base pair for their DTOK's liquidity pool. USD1 is a U.S. dollar stablecoin issued by World Liberty Financial, fully backed by US Dollar and US government money market funds. This integration is crucial for Data Pump as it enables DTOKs to be valued against a U.S. dollar-backed asset. By doing so, creators can circumvent the volatility inherent in crypto-to-crypto pairs. Furthermore, this update lowers the barrier to entry for a new class of risk-averse contributors and investors who prefer stablecoin-based exposure over the correlated volatility of a protocol's native token. Beyond market dynamics, the adoption of USD1 may accelerate technical interoperability, as the stablecoin itself is already supported by numerous DeFi tools and platforms across Ethereum and BNB Chain.

Joining Circle Alliance Program

In October 2025, Pundi AI achieved a significant strategic milestone by joining the Circle Alliance Program, a partnership designed to integrate the regulated USDC stablecoin deeply into its decentralized AI ecosystem. This collaboration enables the Pundi AI Data Pump to support USDC as a primary settlement layer, allowing users to purchase tokenized datasets and fund seeding rounds with a global stablecoin, thereby eliminating the volatility risks typically associated with native crypto assets.

Data Marketplace Launch

On July 24, Pundi AI launched the AI Data Marketplace, a complement to Data Pump by providing a platform for direct, non-liquid data sales and licensing. The marketplace functions as a peer-to-peer venue where users can buy, sell, and license entire training datasets directly. This platform, as the team states, "directly challenges the traditional model of training datasets where a few players profit from user-generated data" by eliminating centralized control and opaque, intermediary-driven pricing.

The marketplace is built on a tech stack anchored by NFT-based ownership. DTOKs are structured as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), providing a secure, traceable, and auditable record of all rights on the blockchain, allowing creators to sell or license data with transparent terms enforced by smart contracts. To ensure the underlying data remains decentralized and perpetually available, all dataset files are hosted on the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). This guarantees data integrity and makes the repository resistant to censorship or single points of failure, such as a private server shutdown or API deprecation.

The marketplace launched with a repository with over one petabyte of data, representing 6.6 trillion data tokens (points of data) and over 28 billion data rows. The marketplace operates on a multi-blockchain architecture, supporting both the Pundi AIFX OmniLayer and BNB Smart Chain. Furthermore, the platform supports payments in PUNDIAI tokens, USDT, and BNB, ensuring accessibility for both crypto-native users and traditional businesses that may prefer stablecoin transactions.

Through DataPump, the protocol converts raw datasets into a self-reinforcing economic loop. It begins with tokenization, where dataset owners use Data Pump to transform their data into DTOKs through automated smart contract deployment and liquidity setup. These tokens then enter the market activation phase, where seeding rounds bootstrap liquidity and enable price discovery through bonding curves before possible DEX listing.

Finally, datasets and their associated licenses are monetized through the AI Data Marketplace, where NFT-based ownership and IPFS distribution allow creators to earn revenue and broaden dataset availability. As each stage feeds into the next, the cycle strengthens overall network activity, liquidity, and data supply.

The Ethereum Migration

Supporting the expansion of Data Pump and the broader product suite is a fundamental shift in Pundi AI's underlying infrastructure. The team has initiated a formal proposal to deprecate its native blockchain, the Pundi AIFX Omnilayer, and migrate the entire ecosystem to Ethereum.

The proposed move to Ethereum in 2026 aims to address several key challenges that a proprietary, smaller L1 chain faces and to unlock new potential for its product suite, particularly the DTOKs created by Data Pump.

  1. Transparency and Reach: The proposal notes that "running operations and DAO on the world’s biggest network will allow greater transparency and larger user reach." All onchain governance and protocol activities would be visible on the most widely watched public ledger.
  2. Superior Governance: By moving governance and voting to Ethereum, the project can leverage established, secure, and battle-tested DAO frameworks such as Snapshot. This is a significant improvement over maintaining a custom governance module and is "likely preferred by CEX too," signaling an understanding of what larger market partners require.
  3. Validator Cost Reduction: The migration would reduce costs for existing validators as they can "continue to run services minus the server cost" of maintaining a full L1 blockchain node. Participants can continue contributing to the ecosystem by staking or engaging with the protocol’s contracts directly on Ethereum, generating profits while providing essential services, such as staking, on the Ethereum network.
  4. Access to Deep Liquidity: This is arguably the most critical factor for Data Pump. The move will allow Pundi AI to "move liquidity to native DEX on Ethereum such as Uniswap," as well as on affiliated L2s and sidechains like Base and BNB Smart Chain (PancakeSwap, Aerodrome). This is essential for supporting an established market for the thousands of DTOKs Data Pump aims to create.

This intended migration will allow Pundi AI to leverage Ethereum's deep liquidity, established security, and mature governance frameworks, all of which have been deemed critical for the long-term success of the Pundi AI ecosystem.

Conclusion

Pundi AI's strategy in H2 2025 has centered around a clear, product-led vision of building a functional, onchain data economy. Pundi AI Data Pump is the flagship product, converting static, siloed AI data into new, liquid financial assets.

Recent integrations, most notably the placement of Data Pump within the Binance Wallet and USD1’s integration with Data Pump for DTOK stablecoin pairing, signal a mature focus on real-world adoption. The launch of the Data Marketplace provides a vital, complementary service for direct data licensing, ensuring the protocol can service the full spectrum of data monetization needs.

Going forward, the shift to Ethereum allows Pundi AI to scale its data economy more efficiently, leveraging the network’s security and liquidity to support broader adoption of Data Pump and the Data Marketplace. With its infrastructure now aligned to Ethereum’s ecosystem, the project is well-positioned to deepen integrations, expand dataset liquidity, and onboard new AI developers and users.
