PrimeDAO: DAO2DAO Coordination

This article is part of a series of deep dives into some of today's most popular DAOs. Learn more and read the rest of the DAO Deep Dive series here.

The number of DAOs created and infrastructure to support them have had a massive past year, with plenty of tooling built for governance, treasuries, compensation, etc. To date, streamlining single DAO operations has been on the forefront of development, with less thought given to how coordination works between two or more DAOs.

This is a greater challenge than B2B software, as traditional companies have strict, well-understood structures and playbooks for how to run and scale a company vs. doing the same for a DAO. The latter is a fluid structure and its potential ranges from single-use to taking on entire functions of a company to even running as a nation.

PrimeDAO is focused on building tooling to support DAO operations independently, but to also set up the DAO to plugin and work efficiently with other DAOs. It is fundamentally focused on refining decentralized control and coordination for DeFi through building research and cross-DAO coordination tools for decentralized organizations. In addition to a token sale, the team closed $2M in venture funding in order to tackle this mission.

The PrimeDAO Product Suite

There are plenty of phases of a DAO’s development cycle that provide some signaling to how successful the DAO will be, given that we do not have enough data or years under the belt to accurately theorize which entities will sustain vs. those who won’t. Venture funding that is going into DAOs today have little financial data to go off of and mostly base potential on the creator team, whitepapers, and token performance, if there is one. While the basis for making these decisions will absolutely evolve, for now, there are a few areas of a DAOs lifetime that PrimeDAO is focused on: fair token launch, bootstrapping liquidity, rating protocols, and working with other entities.
