New NYDFS division to oversee licensing for cryptocurrency startups
The New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) is moving over to the Research and Innovation Division of the same regulator. The switch comes with a recent leadership change from the hawkish Maria T. Vullo to a more progressive head under Linda Lacewell. To date, over 20 firms have been granted BitLicenses.
