Mudslides from heavy rainfall in China force Bitcoin miners to halt operations
Bitcoin mining facilities in China’s Sichuan province are suffering from mudslides caused by heavy rainfall resulting in facility damage and mining machines covered in mud, according to CoinDesk and videos shared to Twitter by mining pool Poolin.
A China Daily report said the mudflows have disrupted local power supply and communications infrastructure too.
CoinDesk’s Wolfie Zhao adds: “It’s not clear at this stage how many bitcoin miners in total may have been affected as they are widely scattered.”
