⛏️ Montana county requiring crypto miners to use renewable energy
Montana's Missoula county has issued regulations for crypto mining to combat global climate change and electronic waste. All crypto miners must use 100% renewable energy, can be located in specific industrial zones only, and have to be reviewed and accepted by the local government. According to the county commission, crypto firm Hyperblock, which mines in the region, uses one-third the amount of energy as the combined use by homes in the Missoula.
