Microsoft engineer allegedly used Bitcoin mixers to hide $10M gift card fraud, gets fired

A former Microsoft employee is accused of attempting to steal $10 million in a gift card scheme involving a Bitcoin ($BTC) mixer. Volodymyr Kvashuk used Microsoft testing accounts to purchase gift cards he sold for digital currency. Using a mixing service, he netted $2.8 million to his bank account with which he bought a Tesla and $1.6 million lakefront property. Kvashuk faces 20 years in prison and a quarter-million-dollar fine.
