🗾 Japanese giant Mizuho Financial Group to introduce digital currency for cashless payments

Japan's Mizuho Financial Group is introducing a stable coin equal to one yen for remittances and payments. The coin will have lower retail fees than credit cards and have zero fees for movements between wallets and accounts. Mizuho, a public holding bank which pulled some 1.45 trillion yen in revenue in 2017, is joined by 60 regional banks in the effort.
